A saddle pad is a saddle cloth designed to be placed under a horse’s saddle. Its purpose is to protect the horse’s back and make it more comfortable by providing cushioning between the horse and the saddle and absorbing sweat. This makes it an important tool for ensuring your horse remains comfortable while it is being ridden. 

When selecting a saddle pad there are a number of things that need to be taken into account. The physique of the horse as well as what activities it will be performing, such as casual riding, dressage or jumping, can determine which is the right fit for that horse. 

At Peter Horobin Saddlery - we recognise that it is important to have only one good quality saddle pad between the horse and rider. If the saddle is fitting correctly- there is no further requirement to add additional saddle pads.
